FolkJam® is a new Finnish form of dance exercise in which you can experience the communal spirit and joy of dance. This form of exercise, based on traditional dance movements, suits all, regardless of age or the level of dancing skills! In FolkJam® each swinger is allowed to feel at home in his/her own body, so this form of exercise may reach even physically impaired or other special needs groups. Juminkeko has commissioned a composition based on the themes of the Kalevala epic for children. The duration of the composition is one month and one day. The premiere of the work starts on Friday 30th June and it goes on until 31st July. The lengthy performance, which is played from a tape, contains moments of more condensed music, the times and hours of which are given below. One may come and listen to and be part of the composition during the opening hours of Juminkeko.
