Kuhmo is located in Eastern Finland, in the province of Kainuu about 600 km from Helsinki. The nearest airport and railway station are in Kajaani, about 100 km west. During the summertime there are 2-3 daily flights on the route Helsinki-Kajaani. There is a daily airport taxi connection from Kajaani to Kuhmo (35 e per person).
